While Googling Around...

While googling around a few minutes ago, I came upon the script for Disney’s Haunted Mansion ride! I felt like posting it in a quick blog, for our enjoyment! Here it is…

Disney's Haunted Mansion Ride Script:

Written by Xavier Atencio.

GHOST HOST:

When hinges creak in doorless chambers and strange and frightening sounds echo through the halls, whenever candlelights flicker, where the air is deathly still, that is the time when ghosts are present, practicing their terror with ghoulish delight. Welcome, foolish mortals, to the Haunted Mansion. I am your host, your Ghost Host. Kindly step all the way in please, and make room for everyone. There's no turning back now.

Our tour begins here in this gallery, where you see paintings of some of our guests as they appeared in their corruptible, mortal state. Your cadaverous pallor betrays an aura of foreboding, almost as though you sense a disquieting metamorphosis. Is this haunted room actually stretching? Or is it your imagination? And consider this dismaying observation: this chamber has no windows, and no doors. Which offers you this chilling challenge: to find a way out! Of course, there's always my way. Oh, I didn't mean to frighten you prematurely. The real chills come later. Now, as they say, "look alive," and we'll continue our little tour. And let's all stay together, please.

There are several prominent ghosts who have retired here from creepy old crypts all over the world. Actually, we have 999 happy haunts here, but there's room for a thousand. Any volunteers? If you insist on lagging behind, you may not need to volunteer.

(The following two paragraphs alternate, depending on which expanding room you come down in. If you linger and wait for the next expanding room, you can hear both spiels.)

(Version #1) The carriage that will carry you into the moldering sanctum of the spirit world will accommodate you and one or two loved ones. Kindly watch your step as you board, please. We spirits haunt our best in gloomy darkness, so remember, no flash pictures, please.

(Version #2) And now a carriage approaches to take you into the boundless realm of the supernatural. Take your loved ones by the hand, please, and kindly watch your step. Oh yes, and no flash pictures, please. We spirits are frightfully sensitive to bright lights.

Do not pull down on the safety bar, please; I will lower it for you. And heed this warning: the spirits will materialize only if you remain quietly seated at all times.

We find it delightfully unlivable here in this ghostly retreat. Every room has wall-to-wall creeps and hot and cold running chills. Sh, listen.

All our ghosts have been dying to meet you. This one can hardly contain himself. Unfortunately, they all seem to have trouble getting through. Perhaps Madam Leota can establish contact. She has a remarkable head for materializing the disembodied.

MADAM LEOTA:

Serpents and spiders, tail of a rat call in the spirits wherever they're at.
Rap on a table, it's time to respond, send us a message from somewhere beyond.
Goblins and ghoulies from last Halloween awaken the spirits with your tambourine.
Creepies and crawlies, toads in a pond, let there be music from regions beyond.
Wizards and witches wherever you dwell, give us a hint by ringing a bell.

GHOST HOST:

The happy haunts have received your sympathetic vibrations and are beginning to materialize. They're assembling for a swinging wake. And they'll be expecting me. I'll see you all a little later.

GRIM GRINNING GHOSTS:

When the crypt doors creak and the tombstones quake
Spooks come out for a swinging wake
Happy haunts materialize
And begin to vocalize
Grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize
Now don't close your eyes and don't try to hide
Or a silly spook may sit by your side
Shrouded in a daft disguise
They pretend to terrorize
Grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize
As the moon climbs high over the dead oak tree
Spooks arrive for the midnight spree
Creepy creeps with eerie eyes
Start to shriek and harmonize
Grim grinning ghosts come out to socialize
When you hear the knell of a requiem bell
Weird glows gleam where spirits dwell
Restless bones etherealize
Rises spooks of every size

GHOST HOST:

Ah, there you are. And just in time. There's a little matter I forgot to mention: beware of hitchhiking ghosts. They have selected you to fill our quota, and they'll haunt you until you return. Now I will raise the safety bar, and a ghost will follow you home.

GRIM GRINNING GHOSTS:

If you would like to join our jamboree
There's a simple rule that's compulsory
Mortals pay a token fee
Rest in peace; the haunting's free
So hurry back we would like your company

LITTLE LEOTA:

Hurry back, hurry back. Be sure to bring your death certificate if you decide to join us. Make final arrangements now. We've been dying to have you.

Until next time,

The 1 Month Anniversary of DJGinsberg.com!!!

The 1 Month Anniversary of DJGinsberg.com!!!

Hi, everyone, and welcome to my 3rd blog post! I am happy to announce that today, May 3rd, 2009, marks the one month anniversary of my new homepage http://DJGinsberg.com – I started creating the site on April 3rd, 2009! When I first started adding pages, my initial idea was to make a page for music, videos, and artwork by me. Now -- one month later -- I have media files on subpages so you can easily find a track or clip by me in each of several genres. I also developed new pages for Games, DJGRadio, & DJGTV! Let me explain:

Looking for music, videos, or artwork by me?

Click on the Media tab in the navigation bar on the left side of my Home page @
http://DJGinsberg.com to get started. From there you can find several sub-categories found within the Media page: Music, Remixes, Videos, and Artwork. I will now explain the contents of the sub-pages found within the Media page:

1. Within the Music page, you can find links to 3 music pages: Originals (songs I wrote & performed), Jazz Tunes (my versions of classic jazz songs), and Cover Songs (songs written by others, but performed by me.
2. Within the Remixes page, I have 2 sub-pages so far: Remixes of Disney Songs, and Remixes of Jeremiah Ginsberg songs (from Biblical musicals by my dad, Jeremiah Ginsberg). I intend to create additional interesting remixes in the future!
3. Within the Videos page, I created 3 sub-pages: Concert Videos (video clips of me playing live in concert), Creative Videos (artistic videos I made), and Music Videos (music vids of me performing my original songs, coming soon!)
4. The Artwork page hasn’t been subdivided yet – I intend to create some cool Flash slideshows for this area of my site soon! You can find the Media page on my site @
http://DJGinsberg.com/Media.aspx ! Next I will tell you about some cool Flash games you can play on DJGinsberg.com!

The ‘Games’ Page:

A few weeks after I started my site, I had the idea to create a few pages for interesting embedded Flash video games that visitors to DJGinsberg.com can play while relaxing and listening to some of my music! These pages can be found by clicking on the Games link on the Home page of
http://DJGinsberg.com ! Now, I will explain each of the different games that I embedded in pages on my site so far:

1. Breakout: Remember the game, kind of like ping-pong, where you move a paddle on the bottom of the screen to prevent the ‘ball’ from leaving the screen, and to break all the bricks at the top of the screen so you can beat the level? Well, here it is in Flash format: just use the mouse to move the paddle!
2. Frogger: In ‘Frogger,’ the goal is to move the frog across the street, hop logs and alligators in the stream, and navigate into one of the caves! After you navigate the frog successively into each of the caves, you move on to a more challenging level!
3. Sonic the Hedgehog Flash: In this Flash remake of the classic Sega Genesis game series ‘Sonic the Hedgehog,’ you dash around defeating enemies, saving peaceful critters, and battling the diabolical boss, Dr. Robotnik! This is one of my favorites!
4. Super Mario Flash: This is a Flash remake of the Nintendo classic ‘Super Mario Bros,’ where you progress through levels hopping on enemies, using fireballs, and invincibility to beat enemies. You also explore underground areas and defeat the evil boss Bowser Koopa to beat the game!

You can find these games (more coming soon) on my Website @
http://DJGinsberg.com/Games.aspx ! Next I’ll tell you about my site’s most recent addition, DJGLive!

Enjoy DJGLive!

The most recent updates I made on DJGinsberg.com were adding pages for DJGRadio and DJGTV, both accessible through the DJGLive link on the left side of the Home page! In DJGRadio, you can hear my most recent ten tracks that I DJed live on Blip.fm. On the DJGRadio page there is also a link directly to my Blip.fm profile, where you can listen to all the tracks I DJed there to date! My DJGRadio page is on the Web @
http://DJGinsberg.com/DJGRadio.aspx !

In my last blog, I mentioned that I started a new page, DJGTV, powered by Mogulus.com where I keep a playlist looping at all times of concert videos and creative videos by me! Since then I added 2 concert clips of me performing at Temple Beth Hillel, and a 30 minute Batman silent film that I soundtracked using audio clips from classic Disney short cartoons! You can visit my DJGTV page @
http://DJGinsberg.com/DJGTV.aspx !

Well, that’s all for now!

In the future, expect to see blogs about further updates to DJGinsberg.com, as well as interesting technology articles and opinion pieces written by me – as well as blogs about one of my favorite subjects: all things Disney (Disney movies, music, and theme parks topics)! For now, enjoy my new homepage,
http://DJGinsberg.com !

Sincerely,

~David-Joshua ‘DJ’ Ginsberg
